Introduction to Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)

· January 16, 2025

Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) is a forward-thinking methodology that focuses on creating products, services, or processes that meet customer needs and achieve exceptional quality right from the design stage. Unlike traditional Six Sigma, which emphasises improving existing processes, DFSS concentrates on designing new processes to minimise defects and optimise performance. By employing tools such as Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Design of Experiments (DOE), DFSS enables organisations to build innovation and efficiency into their systems. This course equips participants with the knowledge and skills needed to apply DFSS principles, ensuring their designs align with customer expectations and deliver long-term value.
